The day after Christmas 2008, our car hit a milestone, it turned over (I guess it doesn't really do that anymore) 100k miles. We have had the car for 10 months and it had 80k miles on it when we bought it so we have driven an average of 2k miles a month. I believe the yearly average for a car is 15k so we have been doing a bit of driving over the past year! But, with 2 other cars just sitting in our garage and driveway, both leaking massive quantities of fluids and one with over 225k miles on it, I guess it is to be expected!
All this in a family with two (count 'em) engineers! Very cool.
ReplyDeleteHaha, I just realized there are a lot of numbers in that post...sad part is I could keep going and quite enjoy it! An average of 15k miles a year is 1250 miles a month so we are averaging 60% more a month! At our current rate we will reach our other cars mileage of 225k in a little over 5 years from now. Whew, that's actually good to know the car will be paid off before then haha! Ok, I'll stop now. =)
